LIV Golf Singapore: Niemann Eyes Second Title and US Open Spot – GolfWiken

Joaquin Niemann and Dustin Johnson are tied at the top after Round Two at LIV Golf Singapore 2025. With the player leading the LIV standings on April 7 earning an automatic spot in the US Open, Niemann has more than just a trophy on his mind.

A win on Sunday could push Niemann to the top of the standings, securing him a direct entry into the US Open — the only major he has yet to qualify for. The top 10 LIV players will bypass local qualifying and head straight to the final 36-hole qualifier at Oakmont Country Club in June.

Several LIV stars, including Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, and Phil Mickelson, are already exempt. Niemann knows what’s at stake.

“I want to win the tournament, and I think the rest will take care of itself,” Niemann said. “But yeah, securing a spot in the US Open is definitely on my mind.”

Niemann put himself in contention with a sizzling seven-under-par 64 at Sentosa Golf Club on Saturday — three shots better than anyone else on the Serapong Course. That round pushed him into a tie with overnight leader Dustin Johnson at 11 under par.

Sebastian Muñoz, Niemann’s Torque teammate, is tied for third at eight under alongside Cameron Tringale, Jason Kokrak, and Lucas Herbert. However, Torque’s overall performance took a hit after Mito Pereira’s tough round of 79 and Carlos Ortiz’s 73, leaving the team at even par and trailing Johnson’s 4Aces by eight shots.
