Sergio Garcia put on a dominant performance in Hong Kong, securing his second LIV Golf title with an impressive final round of 7-under 63. His victory by three strokes over Dean Burmester reaffirms his elite form, and he hopes it will catch the attention of European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
Garcia has shown remarkable consistency, improving his score each round and proving that his strong play from last season has carried over. His ultimate goal? A return to Team Europe.
“I think he’s watching,” Garcia said about Donald. “We’ve been in touch, so I know he’s keeping an eye on things. The best I can do is keep playing great golf and continue contributing to the European team like I always have. Hopefully, he’ll see that I’m ready.”
Team Success & Notable Performances
Beyond his individual triumph, Garcia’s Fireballs GC team secured another victory, their second win in three events, edging out Stinger GC by a single stroke.
Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson delivered his best-ever finish in a LIV Golf event, securing solo third place, just four shots behind Garcia.
“I had a great offseason and made some key adjustments,” Mickelson said. “I’ve been playing really well at home, and it’s exciting to bring that form into competition.”
